Short Film Scripting and Cinamatic planning
PLot ideas:
- opens with the siblings killing someone -use wide shot from distance when the death happens- The two talk while the camera looks up with a dutch-tilt from the corpses perspective/low angle and they start cleaning up their mess, they confirm the death then go back to their daily lives, which is surprisingly domestic. Mafia themes.
- bickering dialogue, sarcastic sibling rivalry, woman complains about the blood -use of back and forth shots with full shots/wide shots of the two in the room together- brother calls her a 'wus' or 'pussy' because it 'wasn't as messy as the last one' which we will never learn about in detail.
- woman's attitude switches -lighting should change tone slightly to signify the change- randomly and isn't addressed other than the brother using different 'nicknames' for her depending on how she acts - hinting towards her condition.
- they are shown a potential victim, who happens to be a person the female has encountered before - she turns sour and angry with a moment of panic -subtle dolly zoom with a second to show a hand grabbing hair, before returning to the close up- the turns monotone and her attitude begins to appear emotionless.
"We can't do this one, its best we just leave it be" or something along those lines - this can be interpreted as her and her brother, or her 'system' as a whole.
- after a mini argument, the two decide to go after it, as a person like them deserves to be hunted down -a mini montage of them gathering their things with tense music (non-diegetic) so build up- and they around finding out and planning how to get rid of the guy.
- we see a caring side to the brother as the woman begins to panic and she dissociates, this is the reveal that the woman has Dissociative Identity Disorder and the man abused her as a child which caused the disorder. This moment marks the turning point as the siblings are now more determined to hunt down the man.
- music changes to more pop-music with action-filling beats to build up to the 'moment' with tracking shots of faces and feet. (UGH instrumental/ Mic Drop instrumental by BTS)
- any action where the siblings are easily fighting people should be hyped-up with songs like these. Film should have a red-filter to make the scene more interesting
- film ends with the siblings knocking the man to the floor, a close up of the siblings smirking and the room goes black with a gunshot.
